And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

⁹ᶜ Hosanna: Originally a Hebrew cry for help meaning “Save us!” but had become a shout of praise and welcome. The crowds were both asking for salvation and celebrating Jesus as their deliverer.
