The F.O.G Origin Story

I am writing to you today, after a dramatic and personal encounter where the One true God visited me during the early morning hours over coffee. Sounds dramatic I know; maybe even a little strange, but here’s exactly what happened.

I was having a cup of coffee around 4AM and watching a video called the Father’s blessing when I suddenly felt something bubbling up from deep within. Within seconds I was absolutely hit by the presence of God, not just filling the room, but the very fibres of my being. And it overflowed with messy, messy tears.

I write a little bit more about the full experience here, but one of the most tangible things that happened—aside from falling flat on my face in worship and gratitude—was an insatiable appetite for His Word, the Bible.

To be honest, it was a completely unnatural appetite. I wasn’t just reading one Bible, but seven, for hours on end! I just couldn’t get enough of His Word and the almost ‘too good to be true’ good news, which I thought I already knew. But man was I wrong!

I had been a Christian since age seven, but looking back, I realize that for the most part, it was just religious ‘do’s’ and ‘don’t do’s,’ with no personal, “I know you” type of relationship. But that all changed when meeting Him afresh.

Now I could read the King James Bible and be touched, then immediately pick up another translation and be touched all over again in a completely different way. This process would repeat with each subsequent Bible translation. His beautiful loving touch grew stronger and stronger as He spoke directly and personally to my heart about our glorious hope and future together.

And this kept happening daily!

So much so, it became abundantly clear to me that the whole “Which Bible is best?” debate – for the most part is irrelevant. From my personal experience, the more you read from the work of thousands of faithful scribes who created our trusted Bibles, the more He, reveals Himself to you. He does this through the Sacred Holy Spirit, who searches the deep and hidden things of our Heavenly Father to reveal and bless our hearts.

And here’s a beautiful truth: He can do this uniquely for each of His children, using a love language you understand the more you spend time with Him.

Now you may be thinking…

Are you telling me I have to read 7 Bibles?

And don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you have to read many Bibles like I do to develop this love language, but starting with a second Bible is the key. As you do this you will be amazed at what happens as He highlights new things to you. To this day it is still one of my best recommendations for anyone looking to take the Bible more seriously. And this is especially true if all you’ve read is the King James.

To this day, my insatiable appetite for His Word grows. It’s not uncommon for me to be thinking about, reading, or translating the Bible for up to 18 hours a day! To say this is a supernatural gift of favor and hunger seems perfectly appropriate to me, because before my encounter, I had hardly touched my “dust-ridden” Bible for 18 years! The pressures of life had choked the Word of God in my life, as Jesus so wisely spoke of once.

But thank God!

The 18-year famine for the Word of God in my life has now become regular 18-hour daily feasts, and man alive, was I hungry and thirsty, and still am! Bible rainbows like this suddenly started appearing all over my Bibles! #BibleRainbows

After so many years, the core message of the Bible—and how it all points to King Jesus—became real, tangible, and yet at the same time even more mysterious and astonishing to me. Just like any good love story will always be.

This whole experience was even more profound because nine months before my coffee with Jesus, He came to me in a dream and made it very clear, He’s returning soon! I know every Christian says that, but maybe we are the generation that says it last…

To be honest, I wasn’t ready for His return when I had that dream. Even though I prayed the “Sinner’s Prayer,” almost weekly! I knew deep down that my heart had grown hard and disillusioned towards Him.

But He is Love Personified!

In His mercy and grace, God chose to reach out and touch me and welcome me into the fold again!

It’s almost like Peter on the beach with Jesus: I believe it was because He saw how religion and the faithless traditions of man had stained my heart and clouded my spirit.

And in His compassion, God seemed to declare, “Enough is enough!”

It was then that I felt His touch, and the beautiful, awe-inspiring Fear of God, and the Favor of God that makes you a friend of God (F.O.G) entered me!

I fell face down in worship and thanks, and through my grateful sobbing, it became crystal clear that I was back on His side again, the best place in the world. Being in His presence now, I realized that all I knew of Him before was mere rumors and riddles of His power and Shekinah glory, which fills His Temple (you and I).

His glory is so overwhelming that one cannot stand in His all encompassing presence with a mere mortal body—it’s why He promises us new glorified bodies! But even then, glorified with Him, we will cast our crowns before His glorious presence, acknowledging that He alone is worthy.

Reflecting on my life before this encounter, I believe I was like one of those five foolish virgins or bridesmaids (half-hearted believers) Jesus spoke of. It’s my heartfelt prayer that your lamp, dear reader, is full of Holy Spirit oil and burning brightly for Him when He returns to gather His Bride—the Unified Church Assembly—for the marriage supper of the Lamb.

After meeting my Maker and experiencing His loving and merciful heart, I am now filled with a desire for everyone to taste and see this freedom from religion, found in Jesus, the one and only Anointed One (a.k.a the Christ or Messiah King).

The King’s Commission to Me

Whenever there is a visitation from the King, there comes a divine commission. The first and most important is the Great Commission, but there is also a personal calling—a unique purpose that God has created only for you. For me, it became clear that part of my commission was tied to my academic mind, which has always loved to learn.

As a child, I loved books, and specifically I devoured encyclopedias. At school I was top of the class, and all the kids wanted my homework 🙂 and as an adult I sailed through University whilst learning how to build and start an online business. As I think back on this-it was and is a pure gift from God because a lot of these skills have been used to create this website you’re reading right now.

And I take that as a huge honor and privilege that you’re taking some time to read this.

But with all that said—my focus was to be on His Words.

What has followed continues to be a supernatural hunger to dive deep into Scripture, using the best in class Biblical software called Logos to cross-check over 10 Bible translations and numerous Bible dictionaries.

Now when you study the Bible in such depth, for an extended period of time, you naturally begin to notice strengths and “areas of improvement” for each English translation. After identifying these “areas”, Yeshua directed me to write an easy to understand Bible commentary. And He also directed me to answer Questions from the whole Bible, and NOT from the all too common ‘cherry picking’ of Scripture.

The only way to do this is by getting the ancient Israelite into your head, as the late Dr. Michael S. Heiser loved to say.

So I thought to myself, “OK, great—this is what I was born for!”

But as I began this already large task, I realized I needed a literal, ancient context Bible—what many call a “Word-for-Word Bible.” This by the way, is a misnomer, as no language perfectly translates word for word, especially ancient languages!

So during one of my early morning coffee with Jesus, He surprised me with the unthinkable:

“You do it!
Write My Words.”

My immediate reaction was naturally disbelief. And then a tentative, “The whole Bible…? How about I just write out your red letter words?”

Which is exactly what I did, and He knew I would be hooked. So with all this said:

I will be honest with you.

I have been blessed for three years now after my coffee with Jesus experience to be able to commit to His work up to 18 hour per days. The Lord has enabled me to create this solid foundation of a website, but now I have a decision to make. I have to decide whether this Bible project is only a part time passion project, which will naturally delay progress.

As of September 2025, I have been able to finish the Greek Lexicon and am a quarter of the way through the Hebrew. I have a first draft of the F.O.G Bible in all three versions live and am a quarter of the way through the Hebrew Bible and am committing to six explainer videos per week whether I remain full-time or not. So yes that’s what 18 hour days up till now has been able to achieve and it would be my absolute dream to continue doing so.

But it really does come down to funds. So again the first thing that really helps and doesn’t cost you a dime is sharing this website. When you do so the advertising revenue naturally increases. So again please take a moment to share if you haven’t already.

The goal of all this is to generate $5,000 per month for myself and one hire to commit full-time to this project. This goal would also enable me to start seriously thinking about a printed version of the F.O.G Bible to join the digital version.

The first person I would hire is an admin assistant to help manage the growing Bible database of nearly 50,000 entries. (Comprising the 66 Books, 1189 chapters, 31,102 verses all comprised of 14,197 unique words in our Bible. The database also has a growing library of questions being answered.) And yep, I have it all and new information is constantly coming into my inbox from both archaeological finds and Bible scholars which requires all these entries to be be updated. Now am I doing my best, but I think you can see the need of someone who works exclusively on keeping this up to date with my research. This admin person would also be responsible for Biblical tagging which helps to personalize your Bible study experience based on the verses you bookmark. Just the tagging is a full-time job for someone over the next 3 years.

So my request and my goal:

If I can get just 500 people to commit to $10 or 50 people to give $100 per month we’ve done it! And I can continue full-time with an extra helper to dramatically speed up the progress of this project and be able to do 3 videos per day so that all 1,189 chapters of the Bible are translated and have an explainer video in just over a year.
